A NORMAL walk to school turned into a nightmare for three girls yesterday when they were stabbed by a thug in two separate incidents!
Aphiwe Selman and Abenathi Koboka (both 17) from Gasela Village near Stutterheim were on their way to Masimanyane Senior Secondary School when a man jumped out of a bush. He grabbed them and tried to force them into the bush, warning them that he would kill them if they cried out.
When Aphiwe started crying, the thug stabbed her. Abenathi was also stabbed while trying to grab the knife. The girls managed to get away and ran back home. The thug ran off and shortly afterwards, he attacked Babalwa Kraqa (19), who was walking with her cousin.
All three girls said they recognised their attacker as a former pupil at their school. Resident Nosicelo Halfama (35) said the attacker is known to the community and has been in jail before for rape.
Police spokesman Lieutenant Nkosikho Mzuku said the police are looking for the suspect.
