Easter Weekend

I hope you had a nice Easter weekend. Here is a little about ours.

Friday was rainy off and on. At times, like when this picture was taken through my classroom window, the rain was coming down quite hard.

By Saturday morning, it was just cloudy, but we had more rain on Saturday evening.  Sunday was mostly sunny, but some clouds hung around.  It was about 60 degrees but breezy.

My tulips survived last week's snow and cold temperatures and were looking brilliant and lovely.  I think the purple tulips are my favorite this year.  I am sure they will open more fully when our weather warms up a bit.

I spent some time Friday working on finishing two Hillsdale College classes - one on Economics and one on Theology. Both are interesting.  I hope to have both finished by the end of the week.

Saturday was a "to do" list day.  Josh went on a date in the afternoon.  He said he took a young lady to an arcade.  He wanted to take her to "Top Golf" but it was raining.  His second choice of bowling was out because the girl had a broken finger.  An arcade sounded like a fun, casual afternoon of getting to know each other.  Meanwhile, I took care of some errands and some things I had been wanting to get done like repotting one of my Christmas Cactus plants.

I am hoping to get some blossoms from this plant.  I have heard that repotting encourages blooming and when I repotted my other Christmas Cactus, it bloomed almost immediately.

Saturday evening, we took Josh out to dinner at his choice of restaurant to celebrate his graduation from Ensign College.  He choose The Olive Garden.  We had a nice dinner - just the three of us. We had invited our daughter Tiffany and her family to join us, but she refused.  We don't know why. Josh was hurt but we understand that right now, this is just how Tiffany is.   We pray that God will bring her and her precious children back to our family.  Our other children live out of state, too far away to join us for dinner.  Alex is in California and Amber is in Virginia.

We went to church on Easter Sunday. Charly and I are always among the first to arrive for the meeting.  We had a nice Easter service, then a good lesson and discussion in Sunday School about the last week of Jesus' life.  Josh went to church at the young adult congregation.

Sunday afternoon, I had quite a bad headache. I ate lunch and took a little nap.  That helped my headache some.  I also indexed 1935 birth record from New York, and listened to two lectures in the Hillsdale College Theology 101 class.

My sister Judy's birthday is coming up next week.  I did a little online shopping Sunday afternoon, and ordered this for her.  I hope she likes it.  My grandson Clay's birthday is also coming up soon, so ordering his gift will be on my "to do" list for the coming week.

Our Easter dinner was ham, homemade potato salad, long grain and wild rice, steamed broccoli and green salad.    After dinner, I still wasn't feeling super well. The headache hung on, although it had lessened.  We decided to take a break from walking and just rest Sunday night.

I finished reading this book, My Friend Anna by Rachel Deloache Williams.  It is the true story of Anna Delvey-Sorkin, the subject of the Netflix show, Inventing Anna. The book was good, but a little tedious and mostly a repeat of what I had seen in the Netflix series.  I was ready to get the book finished.  I got it from the library so will return it this coming week.  As far as what I will read in the coming week, I have a couple of books I am "test reading" - one non-fiction and one fiction. We will see if I will stick with one or both.

That's it for this weekend.  I hope you all had a good Easter weekend and that the coming week brings good things for all.  See you again soon.

🙏Keep Ukraine in prayer. 🙏
